6 Bulldogs Named to All-Ivy Team

Oberbeck Makes First Team

PRINCETON, N.J. - Six Bulldogs stood out in the minds of the league's head coaches when it came time to make their selections from the six other schools.  Yale had one first-team pick, a second-teamer and four honorable mentions on the 2014 All-Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Team that was announced today.

Conrad Oberbeck (Greenwich, Conn.), who leads the team with 35 goals and 47 points, made the top Ivy squad. The junior attackman, who has 11 multiple-goal games in 13 outings this spring, earned his first All-Ivy recognition. Oberbeck made the Ivy All-Tournament team last May and was a second-team All-New England selection.

The second-team selection was sophomore defenseman Michael Quinn (Port Washington, N.Y.), who has 33 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. This was his first post-season collegiate award.

Seniors Brandon Mangan, Dylan Levings and Jimmy Craft and junior Eric Natale were honorable mention All-Ivy.  Mangan, the attackman, is second on the team with 22 goals and 43 points. He is the only Eli among the HM picks who was All-Ivy last spring.

Yale's face-off man, Levings, is atop the Ivy with a .582 win percentage and has been a USILA All-American for two straight seasons.

Craft, the Yale captain, is a defenseman who owns a team-high 19 caused turnovers, while his 36 ground balls are the most among the Elis other than Levings. Craft has helped Natale, the Eli goalie, have some of the best numbers in the Ivy. He has an 8.33 GAA and a .524 save percentage.

Yale's six All-Ivy selections are second to Harvard and Cornell, which each carry seven picks.

The Bulldogs (9-4) are at Harvard Friday night in the second semifinal of the 2014 Ivy League Tournament, an 8 p.m. start that airs on ESPN3.
