Two Bulldogs Earn Ivy Honors

March 18, 2009

Senior Michael Karwoski (Greenlawn, NY) and freshman Matt Gibson (Point Lookout, NY) earned Ivy League honors after great performances in a 14-13 OT win at Penn on March 14.

Karwoski, an attacker who tallied the game-winner 11 seconds into the overtime, was Ivy Player of the Week and finished with a career-best five goals and one assist. He shared the honor with goalie Jordan Burke of Brown.

Gibson, also an attacker, enjoyed the finest outing of his young collegiate career by hitting the net three times and handing out three assists to earn Ivy Rookie of the Week honors.

These are the first Ancient Eight honors for the Bulldogs in 2009.

Karwoski, Gibson and the Bulldogs (3-2, 1-0 Ivy) host No. 3 ranked Cornell this Saturday at Reese Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
