Jacobson Scores For Bulldogs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 17 Brown used a big second half to knock off Yale at Stevenson Field. The Bears scored three times in the final 45 minutes en route to a 4-1 Ivy League victory. Peter Jacobson had Yale's goal.

Jacobson's goal came on a header off a nifty feed from Milan Tica at the 9:10 mark and gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

It looked like Yale might take that lead to the locker room at halftime, but Brown's T.J. Popolizio headed in a Jay Hayward throw in with less than five minutes left before the intermission.

"We played one of our better first halves of the season," said Yale head coach Brian Tompkins. "When they got the equalizer, it gave them the momentum, and in the second half they rode that momentum. They put us under a lot of pressure."

Evan Coleman's goal at 58:36 snapped the tie. Less than 10 minutes later, Sean Rosa scored to make it 3-1. Kevin Gavey added a goal with 2:54 left to seal the victory.

Yale closes out the season next Saturday against Princeton. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
