Thalman Earns Ivy League Honor
Shares Player Of Week Award After Strong Performance At Brown
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Goalkeeper Bobby Thalman, who made 11 saves in Saturday's 1-1 tie with No. 11 Brown, has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. He shared the honor with Cornell's Stephen Reisert.
Thalman was under pressure throughout Saturday's game. He faced 36 shots but allowed only one to get past him early in the first half. Thalman was particularly strong in the second half when he made eight of his saves. The tie knocked the Bears out of first place in the Ivy League.
Thalman leads the league with 75 saves and is second in save percentage (.833) and shutouts (5).
Thalman and the rest of the Bulldogs close out the season on Saturday when they host Princeton at 3 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
