Neil Patrick Harris has joined the Yale men’s soccer staff as the director of operations and player personnel. Harris brings strong administrative, organizational and soccer experience to the position.
Most recently, he worked as an associate financial representative for Northwestern Mutual. Prior to that he served as a program director/assistant manager at the Connecticut SportsPlex in North Branford, Conn. There, he oversaw operations for a 70,000-square-foot multi-sport indoor facility and four outdoor multi-sport athletic fields.
Harris’ soccer experience came at the University of New Haven where he was a volunteer assistant coach and involved in soccer operations for two seasons. And with Real Aglianese ACF in Italy where was a general manager/director of soccer operations intern.
“We are excited to add Neil to our staff to help fill the role left by Nate Kopunek, who left for a second assistant position at another Division I program,” said Kylie Stannard, The 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. “This has been a very important role on my staff for the past few years with all of those coaches getting promoted within the staff or moving on to other college coaching opportunities. I was primarily looking for someone that could especially help on the day-to-day operational tasks that are often less visible and behind-the-scenes, but yet extremely important details for our players and program. Neil’s business and administrative background will be an excellent fit to help assist our players and coaching staff both on and off the field.”
Harris is a 2016 University of New Haven graduate where he earned Cum Laude honors and a bachelor’s of science in management of sports industries.
