Whylly Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Goalkeeper Dwayne Whylly, who did not allow a goal in 135 minutes of action last week, has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Against 14th-ranked Penn, he made a career high seven saves to post his first career shutout. Penn's best scoring chance came with 25 minutes left when Whylly made a leaping save on a Derek Hobson blast. Against Sacred Heart, Whylly played the first half, did not allow a goal and made one save.
Whylly has now started the last three games in goal, has a 3-0 record and a 0.74 goals against average.
Whylly has experience on the Bahamas national youth and under-23 teams. In addition, he was an all-state and all-league selection at the St. Georges School in Rhode Island. He also was selected as a New England All-Star and was the team captain.
The Bulldogs, who have won three straight games, are back in action on Wednesday when they play at Hartford at 7 p.m.
