NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 4 Yale men's squash team swept both of its matches on Saturday, defeating both the No. 6 Cornell Big Red and the No. 32 Northeastern Huskies 9-0 on Saturday at the Brady Squash Center.
The Bulldogs (7-0, 3-0 Ivy) remained undefeated by sweeping their three weekend matches at the Yale Round Robin. In the team's first match, the Bulldogs topped the Big Red (3-4, 1-3 Ivy) 9-0, sweeping six of the nine individual matches 3-0.
In the afternoon contest, the Bulldogs beat the Northeastern Huskies (1-8) 9-0 by sweeping all nine individual matches. Several Bulldogs turned in dominant performances, including senior Sharyar Aziz (11-0, 11-0, 11-3) and junior John Fulham (11-2, 11-1, 11-1). Even though the Huskies' club sport status will prevent the Bulldogs from adding the win to their season total, the victory still sets up the team well for Wednesday's important match-up against No. 1 Trinity.
