Bantams Beat Bulldogs 9-0

HARTFORD, Conn. - The No. 3 Bulldogs dropped to 8-1 this season after losing to the No. 1 Bantams 9-0 Wednesday in Hartford, Conn. Trinity extended the nation's longest active winning streak in any intercollegiate varsity sport to 189 matches in a row with the win over Yale.

Yale managed to win only three games in the loss. The Bulldogs lost three games to none at No. 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8. At No. 3, junior Todd Ruth won his first game 10-8 before dropping the next three games. Freshman John Roberts lost 9-1, 7-9, 9-3, 9-3 at No. 5. Playing No. 9, sophomore Christopher Plimpton dropped his match 9-6, 5-9, 9-5, 9-7.

The Bulldogs will host Navy, Bates College and Franklin & Marshall Saturday and Sunday in the Yale Round Robin.
