Yale Completes Day One at CSA Individuals

Philadelphia, PA - Sophomore Bill Hatch advanced to the quarterfinals of the Molloy Division (men's B) at the CSA Individual Championships Friday. Hatch upset the No. 1 seed Verdi Disesa of Harvard in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Hatch cruised to a 9-3, 9-1, 9-2 victory against Bowdoin's David Funk in the first round before taking down Disesa 4-9, 10-9, 9-4, 9-6 in the second round. Sophomore Colin Campbell pulled off a five game victory against Penn's Andrew Zimmerman before falling in the second round of the Molloy Division.
After falling in the first round of the Potter Division (men's A), freshman Aaron Fuchs bounced back to advance to the quarterfinals of the consolation by defeating St. Lawrence's Dan McElvaine in four games. Sophomore Francis Johnson, junior Max Samuel, and junior Moshe Sarfaty all also fell in the first round, but will play in their consolation matches on Saturday.
Hatch will take on Navy's Alastair Smith Saturday morning in the quarterfinals.
