Johnson Captures CSA Consolation Championship
March 4, 2007
Philadelphia, PA - Sophomore Francis Johnson cruised to a three game victory in the consolation finals of the Potter Division (men's A) at the CSA Individual Championships Sunday. Johnson left it all out on the court as he pulled out a 9-5, 9-1, 9-6 victory.
After falling on the first day of the tournament Friday in the maindraw in a hard-fought four game match, Johnson managed to win all four of his matches in the consolation draw. In the finals, Johnson topped Trinity's Rushabh Vora.
The victory capped a great season for the sophomore, who after starting the year at the No. 7 spot helped Yale to a fourth place finish at the No. 3 spot.
