Saunders Joins Bulldogs As Assistant Coach

Aug. 26, 2008

The Yale squash program has added Pam Saunders to Head Coach Dave Talbott's staff as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's teams. Saunders was a four-time All-American at Trinity College, and was previously the head coach at Mount Holyoke College. She joins Associate Head Coach Gareth Webber on Talbott's workforce.

"I want to work under Dave and Gareth," said Saunders. "They have a lot to teach and we share a similar philosophy".

Saunders, a native of Zimbabwe, took the reins of a Mount Holyoke team in 2004 when the squad was ranked 23rd nationally. She leaves the program ranked 11th in the country, with the potential to break into the top ten in 2008-09.

Coach Talbott sees Saunders as a great addition to the coaching staff. "With Pam and Gareth, I have two pretty great technical assistants," said Talbott.

The Yale men's and women's squash team both finished ranked third in the nation in 2007-08. Three members of the women's team earned All-America status, including CSA National Individual Champion Miranda Ranieri.
