Rivalry Renewed: Bulldogs To Take on Harvard and Princeton in Annual H-Y-P Showdown
The Bulldogs are coming off a 152-142 loss to Navy's undefeated
Midshipmen in a
meet that saw all three of Yale's divers qualify for NCAA Zones - a competition
that will take place in March.
Several Elis delivered solid performances in the loss, headlined by sophomore sprinter
Goksu Bicer, who took both the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly. He
also finished second in the 100 yard freestyle.
The Bulldogs swept the backstroke events, as freshman Mike Dominski won the 100 yard event, while senior captain Tom Robinson took the 200.
Perennial Ivy powers Harvard and Princeton come in, as expected, as the class of
the Ivy League in 2010. Both teams are undefeated in conference dual meets (5-0,
4-0). Harvard is 6-1 on the season, and most recently took 13 of 16 events in
defeating BU's Terriers 201-99.
Princeton's most recent contest was a 181-119 defeat of Dartmouth. The Tigers
are unbeaten in the past six weeks.
This year's meet will feature every Ivy League champion since 1988, and is also
Robert J.H. Kiphuth Director of Swimming Frank Keefe's final H-Y-P showdown.
The Elis will take to the pool at 12 pm Saturday at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton,
