Yale Leads the Nation in GPA Again
The Yale men’s swimming and diving team remains the nation’s top academic squad, as the Bulldogs topped the recently released CSCAA Scholar All America Team rankings for the spring with a 3.62 team GPA. This comes on the heels of Yale topping the fall rankings with a 3.59 GPA. Yale was one of 69 schools to earn CSCAA Scholar All America Team honors, which require a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Winter Academic All-Ivy Announced
The Ivy League has released its list of student-athletes selected for 2011-12 Academic All-Ivy honors in its winter sport, and 10 Bulldogs were honored.

Bulldogs Honor Top Performers of 2011-12 At Annual Banquet
The Yale men's swimming and diving team announced its award winners for the 2011-2012 season at its annual banquet Friday night. Eight different swimmers earned prizes for second-year Robert J.H. Kiphuth Director of Swimming Tim Wise's squad.

Lovett Elected 2012-13 Men's Swimming and Diving Captain
Jared Lovett has been named captain of the Yale men’s swimming and diving team for the 2012-13 season. Lovett, one of the Bulldogs’ most versatile swimmers and consistent force in the Individual Medley, butterfly, and backstroke over the past three seasons, was chosen by a vote of his teammates.

Bulldogs Break Eight School Records, Take Fourth at Ivy League Championships
The Yale men's swimming and diving team closed out a turnaround 2011-2012 season in the same place they ended 2010 - fourth (966.5). But for two seasons that ended so similarly, this year and last year couldn't have been more different: if eight new school records in the past three days is any indication, the Elis can expect even better finishes in the years to come.

Harder Impresses Again, Bulldogs in Fourth at Ivy League Championships
After a school record-breaking performance in the 500-yard freestyle in his first day of Ivy League Championship competition ever, Yale freshman Rob Harder turned in another stellar performance, this time in the 1000-yard freestyle, to pace the Bulldogs Friday. Yale finished the day in fourth with 678.5 points. Columbia is just ahead of Elis with 715.5, while Princeton (1049.5) and Harvard (944) look poised to battle it out for the top spot yet again.

Bulldogs Head To Ivy League Championships
The Yale men's swimming and diving team engineered quite a turnaround so far in the 2011-2012 season. Following a 2-8 season in 2010-11, the Bulldogs swam to a 6-2 record with losses to Harvard and Princeton. The Elis finished third in the regular-season standings behind those two teams thanks to an injection of energy from a stellar freshman class and the consistent strength of a small group of upperclassmen. This Championship meet, to be held Thursday through Saturday at Princeton, will be a chance for Yale to cap its excellent season with a statement as they head to next year in hopes of making the Ivy League swimming's dynamic duo a trio in the years to come.

Firmansyah, Harder Break School Records, Yale In Third After Day One at Ivy League Championships
Freshmen Rob Harder and Alwin Firmansyah both broke school records over a decade old to lead Yale on the first day of the Ivy League Championships in Princeton, N.J. The Bulldogs (289 points) trail just Harvard (471) and Princeton (444), and so head to the second of three days of competition with a solid hold on third place.

Bulldogs Post Nation's Top GPA, No. 1 in CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Rankings
The Yale men's swimming and diving team is the nation's top academic squad according to the CSCAA Scholar All-American team rankings. The team posted an outstanding 3.59 GPA - at one of the nation's most challenging academic institutions - just ahead of Villanova (3.58) and Dartmouth (3.41). Six of the eight Ivy League teams made the Scholar All-America rankings, which requires a minimun 3.0 cumulative team GPA. Yale and Dartmouth top the list, followed by Harvard (3.4), Penn (3.19), Princeton (3.01) and Cornell (3.0).

As turnarounds go, the one pulled off by the Yale men's swimming and diving team this year has been impressive: after going 2-8 a year ago, the Bulldogs rounded out this regular season with a 6-2 record by dint of a 180-120 win over Brown at the University of Rhode Island Saturday.

The Yale men's swimming and diving team suffered its first losses of the year Saturday, falling to both Harvard and Princeton in the two-day meet in Cambridge. There were bright spots for the Bulldogs, however, who followed up a flurry of strong showings in Friday's action with a similar spread of success Saturday.

Firmansyah Impressive, but Bulldogs Trail After Day One at H-Y-P
Yale freshman Alwin Firmansyah shined in the 200-yard butterfly on day one in Cambridge, but the Bulldogs trail both Harvard and Princeton after Day One. The freshman's winning time in the event, 1:47.04 was nearly two seconds faster than the rest of the field.

Bicer Wins Three as Bulldogs Maintain Perfect Slate
Look out Harvard and Princeton: the Yale men's swimming and diving team is for real. The Bulldogs passed their final test before their showdown with the perennial powerhouse Crimson and Tigers when they disposed of both Dartmouth and Penn Saturday in Hanover. Freshmen Alwin Firmansyah and Rob Harder broke pool records as Yale downed the Quakers 188-112 and the host Big Green 174-126.

After a magical start to the 2011-2012 season, the next three meets will reveal a great deal about this year's edition of the Yale men's swimming and diving team. Cornell Comes to Town as Bulldogs Celebrate Men's Swimming and Diving Class of 2012
It may be just its second home meet of the season for the Yale men's swimming and diving team, but it is also the last one, and therefore will be senior day for the undefeated Bulldogs. Cornell will be the competition as the Elis celebrate the careers of four seniors: Alexander Benz, Goksu Bicer, Matt Boone and captain Christopher Luu.

Bulldogs Dominate on Senior Day
The Yale men's swimming and diving team picked up right where it left off prior to its month-long hiatus with a dominating 204.5-95.5 win over Ivy League rival Cornell Saturday. As the Bulldogs' second - and last - home meet of the season, it was senior day at the Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. Thanks to strong performances from the four honorees and the Elis' impressive freshmen, those seniors celebrated with an emphatic win.

35 year-old Record Falls at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool
In a tradition as strong as Yale swimming's, records are rarely safe from year to year, let alone decade to decade. When they are broken, it is often by tenths of a second, tiny increments that mark each generation's progress. But in their Dec. 3 win against the University of Massachusetts, a quartet of Yale freshmen shattered the pool record in 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:43.58. That was more than SIX SECONDS faster than the previous record (6:49.92), set by Fordham in 1976.

In some ways, it's a test they've already passed. The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive first-place finish at Boston University's Terrier Invitational, a meet in which the Minutemen took fourth.

Bulldogs Make Statement at Terrier Invitational
If there was any doubt that this year's Yale men's swimming and diving team was a legitimate contender in the Ivy League, this weekend in Boston should lay it to rest. The Bulldogs stormed to the front of a highly-competitive field at Boston University's Terrier Invitational, beating the likes of the ACC's Boston College, storied BU and the University of Massacusetts in a three-day meet. As they have throughout the season's first two weekend's Yale's freshmen were invaluable components of the win, particularly Robby Harder and Alwin Firmansyah, who brought home multiple wins.

The Yale men's swim team continued its strong start to the season with another solid day at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University. The Bulldogs led the pack after day one of competition, and made a statement at the end of day two with a four-second win in the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Freshmen Dominate as Bulldogs Grab Season-Opening Win Against Columbia
The Yale men's swimming and diving team downed Columbia 178-122 to grab a season-opening win in a meet made all the more crucial by the fact that it is the Bulldogs' lone conference showdown before the new year. Adding to the excitement around the victory were the impressive performances from numerous Yale freshmen in just their first collegiate meets; members of the class of 2015 took home six individual wins, while junior transfer Paschall Davis grabbed another to make it seven overall for Eli newcomers.

Last season was a season of transition for the Yale men’s swimming and diving team. Tim Wise, Yale’s Robert J.H. Kiphuth Head Coach of Men’s Swimming and Diving, and assistant Kevin Norman took over the reigns and immediately made an impact, leading a Bulldog team that had finished in the bottom half of the Ivy League a season before to a fourth-place finish at the Ancient Eight’s 2011 Championship meet.
