Hogan Earns All-Ivy Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Yale sophomore Brian Hogan earned first-team All–Ivy honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle and second-team honors in the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle events for his performance at the Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships from Feb. 27-Mar. 1.

First-team All-Ivy recognizes the winners of each individual and relay event at the championship meet, and second-team All-Ivy recognizes the runners-up. Hogan's victory in the 1,000 and his second place finishes in the 500 and 1,650 brought in 88 of Yale's 987 points, and helped lift the Bulldogs over Columbia to take fourth place at the meet.  He won the 1,000 in a championship meet record time of 8:52.88.

Hogan currently holds more Yale records in individual events than any swimmer. He set all four of his records this season. He will represent Yale at the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, which begin on Mar. 27.
