Hogan Concludes NCAA Championships with 18th Place Finish
Hogan exploded out of the blocks, and led the field at the 200-yard mark. He completed the first 200 in 1:43.31. His blazing fast start guaranteed that he would leave everything he had in the pool at his last race of the meet. His splits slowed down slightly after the midpoint, but he powered through the grueling race to secure an 18th place finish. Michigan senior Connor Jaeger finished first with a time of 14:29.27.
At the end of the meet, California was crowned the NCAA Champion for the third time in four years. Texas, the runner-up, benefitted from swimming in front of a home crowd at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center. The Longhorns were followed by Florida, Michigan and Georgia.
Hogan's swim was the last official NCAA race by a Yale swimmer for the 2013-2014 season. He and the rest of the Bulldogs will return to action in October.
