Orono, Maine - Joe Mack and Hugh Sullivan each won two individual events and one relay event as Yale won 182-109 at Maine Sunday afternoon. Mack took the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.17) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.37, edging teammate Cameron Hendrick by .26 seconds), while Sullivan won the 100-yard backstroke (55.55) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.99). Both were part of Yale's victorious 200-yard medley relay team (1:41.43) as well, along with Alexander Goldsmith and Dave Lange. Yale's Douglas Scott won two individual events as well, taking the one-meter diving (277.50) and three-meter diving (247.88) competitions. Scott, Jeffrey Lichtenstein and Pat Hayden helped Yale sweep the top three spots in both diving competitions.
Other winners for Yale included Kevin Pudas in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:56.04), Gjorgji Gjeorgjievski in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.83), Reid Madden in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.09), Lange in the 50-yard freestyle (22.73, just .03 ahead of Hendrick) and Morgan Locke in the 100-yard freestyle (48.70).
Yale is back in action Saturday at Navy with Cornell.
