Philadelphia, PA - The Yale men's swimming and diving team dominated Ivy foes Penn and Dartmouth Saturday afternoon, beating the Quakers 196.5-102.7 and downing the Big Green 217-78 at Penn's Sheerr Pool. The Bulldogs notched wins in 13 of the day's 16 events.
The majority of the wins came from reliable places. Alex Righi won both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, and Chris Pool won both the 100 and 200 yard butterfly events. The third Eli swimmer to finish the day with a pair of individual wins was Dennen McCloskey, who finished fastest in the 1000 yard freestyle and the 200 yard backstroke.
The Bulldogs also doubled up in the relay events, winning the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay. The 200 yard medley relay team included Righi, Colin Stalnecker, Pool, and Geof Zann, and the 400 yard freestyle relay team featured Zann, Pool, Andrew Foss and Righi.
The two wins extended Yale's EISL record to 4-1, with the only loss coming to the Cornell Big Red last weekend. Next weekend the Bulldogs will host the Brown Bears (2-2 EISL) at Robert Kiphuth Memorial Exhibition Pool.
