Yale Stands In Fourth Place at EISLs

The Elis completed Day 1 of the EISL Championships in fourth place overall with 253 points. The EISLs include all the Ivy League teams as well as Army and Navy. Yale's relay teams did well on the day, with their 200-yard freestyle relay squad finishing fourth and the 400-yard medley relay team picking up third.

The medley relay team, consisting of Alex Nash on backstroke, Tom Hardy on breaststroke, Jack Cooney on butterfly, and Jimmy Veazey swimming freestyle, finished third to Harvard and Princeton with a time of 3:19.30.

The 200 free relay team, made up of Veazey, Hardy, Cameron Hendrick, and Matt Bowman, swam a 1:22.04 for fourth place in that event.

Other Yale scorers included Andrew Foss, who earned sixth in the 500-yard free with a time of 4:29.32, and Jack Cooney, whose time of 1:52.25 in the 200 IM earned him seventh.

The Elis continue competition today, where they will seek to move up on third place Columbia to challenge Princeton and Harvard at the top of the standings.
