Bulldogs in Second After First Day

Boston, MA - The Bulldogs finished day one at the Terrier Invitational in second place with 227 points Friday at Boston University. Freshman Matt Lee, senior Morgan Locke, and freshman Ege Gurdeniz led the Bulldogs with a first place finish each.
The Bulldogs started off strong with a second place finish the 200-yard freestyle relay to earn 34 points. Locke, junior Dan Li, senior Alex Goldsmith, and Gurdeniz finished with a time of 1:26.06. The other Yale team in this event earned 22 points with an 8th place finish. Freshman Alex Gornitzky, freshman Charles Zhu, senior Gjorgji Gjeorgjievski, and sophomore Colin McCarthy finished with a time of 1:30.39.
Matt Lee and freshman Jerold Lee finished the 500-yard freestyle in first and second place, respectively. The two earned a combined total of 37 points for the Bulldogs in the race.
In the 200-yard IM, Locke earned Yale 20 points with a first place finish and a time of 1:54.08. Fellow senior Jed Lynch finished in 5th place for 14 points.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Gurdeniz earned Yale 20 points with a first place finish and a time of 20.97. Goldsmith gained 9 points for the Bulldogs with a 21.82 time in this race that was good for 9th place.
