New Haven, CT - The Bulldogs concluded their fall schedule on Saturday and Sunday, hosting the Nutmeg Invitational at RJ Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. Yale was one of ten schools in the field, which included the University of Massachusetts (Atlantic 10), Syracuse University (Big East), Boston College (Atlantic Coast), Fairfield University (MAAC) and Williams College (NESCAC). Team scores were not kept.
Sophomore Geof Zann had a busy weekend and left his mark on the scoresheet. Zann teamed up with Kieran Locke, Tom Hardy, and Cameron Hendrick to take second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, finishing just .22 seconds behind Boston College. Zann also took first in the 100 Yard Backstroke, posting a time of 52.25.
In the endurance races, the Elis were dominant, as John Atkinson and Kent Garber took first and second, respectively, in the 1650 Yard Freestyle. In the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, Locke, Atkinson, Quinn Fitzgerald, and Andrew Foss finished first with a time of 6:55.25.
After a visit to Puerto Rico for winter training over the break, Yale returns to action on January 9 when it visits Maine.
