Yale Swimmers Earn All-Ivy Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After their succeses at the Ivy and EISL Championships, the Yale women's and men's swimming and diving teams have had team members who placed first or second in their events named to the All Ivy teams.

The women's team had seven swimmers honored. Captain Meg Gill led the way, earning All Ivy status in three individual events and four relay events. Gill earned first team status for her win in the 50 yard freestyle and in Yale's 200 and 400 freestyle relay events. Fellow senior Moira McCloskey was named All Ivy in five events, and made the first team for her win in the 100 yard backstroke and the two freestyle relay wins. The other five Bulldogs honored were Jane Kim, Susan Kim, Alexis Mann, Andrea Clifford and Caroline Dowd.

The men's team had five members earn All Ivy status. Alex Righi was named first team All Ivy three times - in the 50 yard freestyle, the 100 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Righi was one of only three Ivy swimmers to earn first team status in three separate individual events. Jeffrey Lichtenstein was also named to the All Ivy first team for his win in the 3 meter diving event. Matt Sweitzer, Chris Pool and Andrew Foss joined Righi for a spot on the second team for their second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay at EISLs.
