NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 70 Yale lost to Brown 4-3 Sunday to drop to 2-3 for the season in a consolation match at the ECAC Division I Men’s Indoor Championship at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs won matches at No. 2, 3, and 4 singles in the loss. At No. 2 singles, freshman John Huang rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Au. Junior Calvin Bennett battled to a 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. Playing No. 4 singles, freshman Daniel Hoffman pulled out a 1-6, 6-4, 5-5 (9) win over Hill.
Yale also won one of three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, the doubles team of sophomore Erik Blumenkranz and sophomore Joel Samaha won 8-5 over Au and Deighton.
