New Haven, Conn. – Sophomore John Huang lost Monday morning to Matteo Fago of Tennessee in the opening round of singles qualifying for the D'Novo/ITA Men's All-American Championships.

Fago won the match, played at 8 a.m. on Court 4 at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla., in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

Huang was the sole Bulldog in singles play at the All-American, following the withdrawal of sophomore Marc Powers from the tournament due to pneumonia.  Juniors Erik Blumenkranz and Joel Samaha will team up in the main draw of doubles play beginning Oct. 7.
