Bulldogs Start Strong at State Championships

New Haven, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team started off the 2010 Connecticut State Championships in fine fashion, with six of eight singles players advancing to the round of 16 and three of four doubles teams heading to the quarterfinals.

Following first-round byes, seniors Jordan Abergel and Ryan Berman, juniors Joel Samaha and Erik Blumenkranz, sophomore Zachary Dean and freshman Kyle Dawson all advanced to the round of 16.  Freshmen Patrick Chase and Tommy Ratchford fell in the round of 32.

In doubles play, the teams of Samaha/Chase, Dean/Ratchford and Blumenkranz/Abergel all advanced to the quarterfinals, while Dawson/Berman lost in the round of 16.
