Bulldogs Defeat Stony Brook 4-3
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - In the final match of the weekend, the Bulldogs pulled off a 4-3 win against Stony Brook. Sophomore Daniel Hoffman, junior Erik Blumenkranz, and senior Jordan Abergel all delivered singles victories for the Bulldogs, at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5, respectively. All the matches that the Bulldogs lost against Stony Brook made it to a third set, signifying high level of play and competition.
Yale also captured the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. No. 78 Hoffman and classmate Marc Powers won at No. 1 (8-5), while junior Joel Samaha and sophomore John Huang won 8-3 at No. 2, and senior captain Calvin Bennett and junior Erik Blumenkranz won 8-4 at No. 3.
The Bulldogs have next weekend off from match play, but will face Quinnipiac on Mar. 11.
