Bulldogs Face Pair of Defending Conference Champions

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following its first weekend off this spring, the Yale men's tennis team (4-5) will play two matches this weekend. The Bulldogs will host the Quinnipiac Bobcats (3-3) on Friday at 2 p.m. and the Binghamton Bearcats (2-8) on Saturday at 2 p.m. as well. The Bulldogs have won two of their past three matches, defeating Fairleigh Dickinson and Stony Brook at home.

Quinnipiac is coming off a 7-0 loss to No. 62 Brown, one of Yale's Ivy League rivals. The Bobcats were picked to repeat as NEC champions in the conference's pre-season poll.

The Bulldogs have already played Binghamton, the three-time reigning America East champions, this spring in the first round of the ECAC Division I Tournament. The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches, but lost the match by a 4-3 score. The Bearcats won two matches in the ECAC tournament, defeating both Yale and Princeton before falling to Harvard in the third round.
