Powers, Hoffman, Huang Named All Ivy

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore Marc Powers (Stamford, Conn.) was voted to the First Team All-Ivy League in singles for the second year in a row as the league announced its annual award winners Friday. Powers was also unanimously named First Team All-Ivy in doubles. Two other Bulldogs were also honored, including sophomore Daniel Hoffman (Atherton, Calif.) for the First Team All-Ivy in doubles. Hoffman and classmate John Huang (Irvine, Calif.) both were named Second Team All-Ivy in singles.

Powers (4-3 Ivy) finished the season with a four-match winning streak at No. 1 and No. 2. As a freshman, Powers became the first Ivy League player ever to be named both Ivy League Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Huang also received All-Ivy Honors last year, and was named First Team All-Ivy in singles as well.

Hoffman posted a 6-1 Ivy season at the No. 3 position. Huang, who played at both No. 1 and No. 2 position, went 4-3 Ivy. In doubles, Hoffman and Powers played at No. 1 and finished the Ivy season with a 5-2 record.
