Bulldogs Play Cornell Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. – Seven members of the Yale men's tennis team traveled to Ithaca this weekend for the Cornell Invitational. On day one, Yale took on Binghamton in singles and doubles and Cornell in singles. Overall, the Bulldogs defeated Binghamton in both contests, but came up just short against Cornell. Cornell, last year's Ivy League Championships with an undefeated season, will definitely be a team to watch again this year. However, since top players from both teams were missing due to the All-American Tournament, Yale will have more chances later in the season against the Big Red.

In doubles, Yale won at positions 2 and 3. Freshman Matt Saiontz teamed up with sophomore Patrick Chase for an 8-4 win over Binghamton's Rodrigues and Dina at No. 2, while sophomore Kyle Dawson and Zachary Dean won at No. 3.

Saiontz won all three of his matches of the day, posting two straight set singles wins at No. 6.

Complete results are posted below.
