NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following an action packed week at the ITA All-American Tournament and the Cornell Invitational, the Yale men's tennis team will return to Ithaca this weekend for the ITA Men's Northeast Regional Championship.

The 128-player singles draw will feature six Bulldogs: juniors Marc Powers, John Huang, and Daniel Hoffman, senior captain Erik Blumenkranz, and sophomores Zachary Krumholz and Kyle Dawson. Three of these players are seeded and will receive a bye in the first round: Powers (No. 6), Huang (No. 10), and Hoffman (No. 15).

The Yale men's tennis team is also sending three doubles teams to the tournament: Hoffman and Powers, Blumenkranz and senior Joel Samaha, and Huang and sophomore Patrick Chase. Hoffman and Powers have been named the No. 2 seed, while Blumenkranz and Samaha will be No. 9.

Last year, Yale hosted the Northeast Regional at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. The team sent six singles and three doubles teams to the tournament. Sophomore Daniel Hoffman defeated Brown's Sam Fife 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals before losing to Binghamton's Sven Vloedgraven 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals.  Vloedgraven had ousted sophomore John Huang 6-1, 6-1 earlier in the day in their quarterfinal matchup. Sophomore Marc Powers defeated Penn's Phil Law 6-1, 6-0 before falling to Princeton's Matija Pecotic 6-0, 6-2 in the semis.
