Bulldogs Again on Top in All-Academic and Scholar-Athlete Success
The Yale men's tennis team has extended its unmatched streak of receiving All-Academic Team honors by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) every year since 1996. Yale also boasts the highest number of ITA Scholar-Athletes of any Divison I program in the country for the 2012-13 season, with 10 honorees, showing that the team’s talents extend beyond the court.

Yale Achieves Second-Best Final National Ranking in 33 Years
That the 2012-13 season was one of the best in the history of the Yale men's tennis team was confirmed Wednesday when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final national and regional rankings. Yale's finish at No. 57 in the country is the team's second-best final ranking in the 33 seasons of rankings available on the ITA website. The Elis also secured the No. 4 spot in the Northeast region, while three of Yale's outgoing seniors received individual recognition in the regional rankings.

Alan Schwartz ’52 Inducted into ITA Hall of Fame at 2013 Enshrinement Banquet
Former Yale men's tennis team captain Alan '52 was inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame on Wednesday, May 22, at the annual Enshrinement Banquet. The ceremony took place at the University of Illinois, where the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Championships were held. Schwartz, who was a three-year varsity letterman and captained the Bulldog squad in his senior year, is the ninth Yale-affiliated individual to receive this honor, and is the fourth to be inducted as a contributor.

Kyle Dawson Elected Captain for 2013-14 Season

The Yale men's tennis team displayed impressive form and fitness in its back-to-back wins over Fairfield and Sacred Heart on Sunday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. The Elis picked up where they left off in their victorious season opener against Quinnipiac, as they first defeated Fairfield 9-0 and then overcame Sacred Heart by a score of 6-1. Of the 22 individual matches played Sunday afternoon, Yale only surrendered one singles match to Sacred Heart.

Perhaps as a harbinger of the physically demanding Ivy League stretch in April, this first weekend of competition promises to be a supreme test of fitness for the Elis, who take on three teams in two days, at home. On Saturday at 12:00 p.m., Yale will play local rival Quinnipiac. Sunday features a double-header: the Bulldogs will face off against Fairfield at 12:00 p.m., and will then have to recover quickly to play Sacred Heart at approximately 3:30 p.m. All three matches will take place at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

The Yale men's tennis team heads into the second half of its 2012-13 season on the heels of a successful fall campaign that saw triumphs from the squad's veterans and rookies alike. When the Bulldogs last competed back in late October at the Connecticut State Championships, they put on a dominant display that resulted in several Elis having to battle it out against each other at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in all-Yale singles and doubles semifinals. They will be no inter-team competitive matches in the upcoming months, however, as the Elis are set to face off against several opposing schools between now and late March, all in preparation for the Ivy League stretch in April. The Bulldogs' first taste of team play in 2013 comes on Monday at 12:00 p.m., when they take on No. 48 Brown in a friendly scrimmage at home.

Elis Wrap Up Successful Weekend at Yale Shootout
The Yale men's tennis team followed up an impressive first day at the Yale Shootout with an equally stellar performance on Sunday. In singles, the Bulldogs won all but two matches on the day against players from Army and St. Bonaventure. The Elis went undefeated in doubles to bring Sunday’s total win-loss record to 13-2.

The Yale men's tennis team will play at home for the first time this season when the Bulldogs host the Yale Shootout on Saturday and Sunday. The Elis will be competing against players from the squads of Army and St. Bonaventure. All 12 members of Yale's team will be in action.

Hoffman and Huang Nearly Pull Double Duty at ITA Men's All-American Championships
After a tough outing in singles on Monday, two seniors on the Yale men's tennis team looked to rebound in the doubles qualifying draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's All-American Championships on Tuesday. Senior captain Daniel Hoffman and classmate John Huang won their opening round match at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center, but then lost a close second round encounter. Both players also lost their consolation singles matches.

Tough Outing for Yale Seniors at ITA Men's All-American Championships
Two senior standouts on the Yale men's tennis team were in action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's All-American Championships on Monday. Competing at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center, senior captain Daniel Hoffman and classmate John Huang were looking to advance in the singles qualifying draw. Both Bulldogs, however, were knocked out in their opening matches.

Two members of the Yale men’s tennis team will have the opportunity to shine at the upcoming Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships. This eight-day event begins on Saturday and takes place at the University of Tulsa’s Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Senior captain Daniel Hoffman and classmate John Huang will be joining more than 400 collegiate tennis players from around the country at this prestigious tournament.

Yale Stands Out After Completion of USTA Collegiate Invitational
The Yale men’s tennis team emerged as a team with much promise upon the completion of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Collegiate Invitational on Sunday. Playing at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, one of the most prestigious tennis venues in the world, the Bulldogs produced one main draw champion, freshman Jason Brown, and were represented in the finals of three other main draws on Sunday.

Bulldogs Surge on Second Day of USTA Collegiate Invitational
In response to a mixed bag of results on the first day of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Collegiate Invitational, the Yale men’s tennis team put on a stunning display on Saturday to emerge as one of the top squads in the tournament. The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center seemed to bring out the best in the Bulldogs, as three singles players advanced to the final of their respective draws, with Yale’s rookie doubles team following suit in its draw. Overall, the Elis won 15 out of the 22 matches they contested on Saturday.

Bulldogs Get Underway at USTA Collegiate Invitational
The Yale men’s tennis team was one of several Northeastern squads to feature players at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Friday for the USTA Collegiate Invitational. Playing in the shadow of Arthur Ashe Stadium, the largest tennis stadium in the world by capacity, the Bulldogs’ players displayed some excellent tennis in singles play, with the majority of Elis winning at least one match and four of Yale’s players advancing to the semifinal round of their respective draws.

Bulldogs to Participate in USTA Collegiate Invitational
After a long but fruitful weekend at the Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational, the Yale men’s tennis team will again hit the road Friday to join collegiate squads from across the Northeast in taking part in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Collegiate Invitational. This three-day event will consist of nine singles draws and four doubles draws and will take place in Flushing, N.Y., at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the site of the US Open.

Elis Finish Strong at Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational
The Yale men’s tennis team finished its first event of the 2012-13 season on Sunday at the Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational. The tournament, which began on Friday, concluded on a high note for the Elis, as one of the squad’s newcomers finished the weekend undefeated in singles and two veteran players highlighted Yale’s doubles prowess. As a team, the Bulldogs went undefeated in singles matches on Sunday and had yet another strong doubles showing.

Yale Displays Talent on First Day of Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational
The Yale men’s tennis team had a successful first day of competition on Friday at its first event of the season, the Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational. In a tournament which features competition from 13 other schools, including four in the Ivy League, the Bulldogs fielded players in all six singles draw and all three doubles draws. Almost every Yale player participating in singles competition won at least one match, while the Elis’ doubles teams went undefeated on the day.

The Yale men’s tennis team once again displayed its singles and doubles talent on Saturday at the Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational. Freshmen Jason Brown led the Elis in singles play by making the final of his draw, while five other Bulldogs enjoyed singles victories. In a near replication of Friday’s doubles success, the Bulldogs won all but two doubles matches.

Bulldogs to Begin Season at Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational
The Yale men’s tennis team will commence its 2012-13 season at the annual Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational on Friday at 9 a.m. at Princeton’s Lenz Tennis Center. The three-day tournament will consist of six singles draws of 16 players each and three doubles draws of 16 pairs each. Players from 14 different schools in the Northeast, including Yale, will be competing.

Elis Welcome Two in Class of 2016 to the Tennis Court
The Yale men’s tennis team, coming off a winning season, will add two highly accomplished players in the class of 2016 to its roster for the upcoming 2012-13 season. The two newcomers bring two very different styles of play to the Bulldogs’ squad: one is a steady baseliner while the other displays an aggressive baseline game. Both, however, share the goal of helping Yale claim the Ivy League title.

Three Standout Seniors Invited to ITA All-American Championships
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the selections to the Men’s All-American Championships Friday, in addition to releasing the Campbell/ITA Division I Preseason Rankings. The Yale men’s tennis team features three players, senior captain Daniel Hoffman and classmates John Huang and Marc Powers, with preseason rankings. All three of these players also earned invitations to participate in the ITA All-American Championships.
