Yale Cruises Past Fairfield, Marist, NJIT by Combined Score of 20-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team put on a show at home this past weekend, notching three comprehensive wins over regional opponents Fairfield, Marist and NJIT. The Elis played some of their best tennis of the spring, winning by a combined score of 20-1 across all three matches. This weekend's dominant results extended Yale's current win streak to seven matches and improved the team's dual match record to 9-4. The following contains the highlights of each player's weekend:

Fedor Andrienko: earned straight-set singles wins over Marist's Jan Dernic and NJIT's Richard Rangga at the No. 4 and 5 positions, respectively. Also won all three doubles matches over the weekend alongside Stefan Doehler, improving their record together to 7-2 this spring at the No. 1 spot.

Nathan Brown: started at No. 6 singles in two of the three matches, winning in straight sets against Fairfield's John Hatala and Marist's Max Darrington.

Stefan Doehler: earned straight-set singles wins over NJIT's Abdullah Fouad and Fairfield's Dylan Appel at the No. 3 and 4 positions, respectively. Now boasts a 5-1 record in his last six singles matches. Teamed up with Andrienko in the top doubles spot to sweep all three matches.

Andrew Heller: started at No. 2 singles in all three matches, going 2-1 overall. Played two three-set matches on Saturday, including a clutch super-tiebreak win over NJIT's Lukas Zvikas; followed this up with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-2 win over Fairfield's Jeffrey Rodgers on Sunday. Also found success at No. 3 doubles with partner Ziqi Wang, as the pair notched victories in all three matches to improve their record together this spring to 7-2.

Alan Sou: impressed by going 3-0 in singles over the weekend, including a pair of straight-set wins over Fairfield's Allan Magid and Marist's Paulo Siracusa at the No. 5 spot. With a 4-1 singles record so far this spring, the first-year player appears to be playing his best tennis at just the right time.

Ziqi Wang: enjoyed a perfect weekend by going a combined 6-0 in both singles and doubles. Highlight of the weekend was a three-set win over NJIT's No. 4 player Zac Castagna on Saturday.

After a weekend in which the Bulldogs dominated across the board, all signs are pointing to a strong Ivy League campaign next month. The continued excellence of seniors Andrienko and Doehler in both doubles and singles is noteworthy, and the crucial contributions that Brown and Sou have made to the bottom half of the singles lineup deserve praise.
