Yale Finishes Play At Columbia Classic

New York, NY - The Yale men's tennis team wrapped up an intense weekend of play this week at the Columbia Classic. The duo of Brandon Wai '07 and Josh Lederman '09 competed in the doubles finals today, where they were pitted against Moore and Moore of Columbia. After a close match, Wai and Lederman finally fell to Columbia 8-6.

In the doubles consolation round, Matthew Feldman `06 and Chris Lawler `07 defeated Chan and Bohnen of Columbia to win the finals match 8-6.

In the A flight consolation round, Milosz Gudzowski '06 easily defeated St. John's Tom Green in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Gudzowski went on to defeat Marist's Pedro Genovese in the semifinals 6-3, 6-4. Gudzowski continued his winning streak by capturing the A consolation finals with a win over Dan Wynne of FDU 7-6(3), 7-6(9).

Tom Santoro '09 defeated Filip Syzmick of Manhattan College in the semifinals of the B flight consolation round in straight sets 7-5, 6-3. Santoro was defeated in the B consolation finals by Alex Svetlakou of St. John's 6-3, 6-4.

The Bulldogs return to action on Sat., Feb. 4, in Raleigh, N.C. at North Carolina State.
