Yale Triumphs Over Georgetown 5-2

Washington, D.C. - Yale (2-2) defeated Georgetown (2-7) 5-2 late Saturday night in Washington, D.C. The Bulldogs won the top four singles matches to earn the victory.

The Bulldogs started off strong by grabbing the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, senior Rory Green and freshman Calvin Bennett defeated Kevin Walsh and Will Lowell 8-6. Junior Jeff Dawson and junior Josh Lederman handed Ted Tywang and David Tillem an 8-5 loss.

Playing at No. 1 singles, Jeff Dawson cruised to a 7-5, 6-2 win over Jeffrey Schnell. Junior Michael Caldwell defeated Will Lowell at No. 2 singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Rory Green cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 win over Anthony Tan. Sophomore Connor Dawson handled Ted Tywang at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-3.
