Bulldogs Win Third Straight

Annapolis, MD - The Bulldogs (3-2) defeated Navy (9-3) 5-2 Sunday in Maryland to win their third straight match. Yale took the top five singles matches to earn the victory.

Playing at No. 1 singles, junior Michael Caldwell defeated Nate Nelms 6-3, 6-2. Junior Jeff Dawson cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Johnny Waters at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, senior Rory Green took care of Jason Hill in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Connor Dawson rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Ramsey Lemaich at No. 4 singles.

At No. 5 singles, freshman Calvin Bennett battled back after losing the first set 6-4. Bennett won the next two sets over opponent Alex James 6-2, 6-0.

The Bulldogs lost the doubles point despite an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles from Caldwell and Connor Dawson.
