Yale Loses to University of Portland, 4-3

Boise, ID - The men's tennis team was barely defeated today by the University of Portland. The 75^th ranked University of Portland, currently riding the crest of an eleven game winning streak, squeaked by the Bulldogs with a score of 4-3. The Elis now have a 3-7 season record after today's loss.

Portland swept all the doubles matches to clinch the point.

Yale, determined to come back, had a strong start in the No. 6 singles spot with Rory Green's win over Scott Kennel, 6-7, 7-5, 10-7.

In the No. 4 singles spot, Rowan Reynolds defeated Alex Strom in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6.

In the battle for the No. 1 singles game, Brandon Wai came back from a 2-6 score in the first set to totally dominate over Matthew Loucks. Wai scored a 6-3 in the second set, and then finished with a 6-4 in the third set for the win.

However, Yale was unable to claim another singles victory for the win.

The Bulldogs will remain in Boise to take on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on Fri., Mar. 18.
