NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 72 nationally-ranked Yale men's tennis team got a marathon 9-8 win by the No. 1 doubles team of Michael Caldwell and Connor Dawson to lock up what proved to be the match-deciding doubles point in a 4-3 win over the visiting Penn Quakers on Saturday. With the win, Yale improves to 12-5 on the season and 2-0 in league play. Penn falls to 9-9 overall and 0-3 in Ancient Eight competition.

No.2 singles player Connor Dawson (7-6, 6-4), No.4 Calvin Bennett (6-2, 6-1) and No. 5 Joel Samaha (6-4, 6-1) all won their singles matches in straight sets. Bennett and Samaha (8-4) joined Caldwell and Dawson in sewing up the doubles point.

The Bulldogs, nationally ranked for the second consecutive week, are back in action next weekend as they travel to Cornell and Columbia for a pair of Ivy League matches.
