New Haven, CT - For the second straight day, Yale (6-9, 0-2) came up just short 4-3 at home to an Ivy rival. The Bulldogs fell to the Tigers (9-5, 2-1) Saturday despite winning the doubles point.
A day after winning matches at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, the Bulldogs lost all three of these matches. Senior Brandon Wai fell to Peter Capkovic at No. 1 singles after winning the first set 7-6 (6). Junior Rory Green battled back at No. 4 singles after losing the first set to win the next two. Playing at No. 6 singles, Matt Schimmel came away with a victory over Ted Mabrey.
The Bulldogs won the doubles point in the match.
Next weekend Yale travels to New York to take on Columbia and Cornell.
