No. 60 Yale Drops Match 4-3 to No. 57 Columbia

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The No. 60 Bulldogs fell to 2-2 in the Ivy League and 12-7 overall after losing to No. 57 Columbia 4-3 Saturday in New York, N.Y.

Yale picked up victories at No. 1, 4, and 6 singles. All three matches went three sets. At No. 1 singles, senior Jeff Dawson battled to a 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10) victory over Bogdan Borta. Playing No. 6 singles, freshman Erik Blumenkranz pulled out a 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (7) win over Rajeev Deb-Sen. Sophomore Calvin Bennett stayed undefeated in the Ivy League with a three set victory over Ekin Sezgen at No. 4 singles.

Yale will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Hanover, N.H. to take on Dartmouth The Bulldogs will then close their season with home matches against Harvard and Brown.
