Yale Captain Falls In Virginia

Sept. 15, 2006

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Facing a tough opponent today in Charlottesville, Yale captain Brandon Wai fell in the first round of the University of Virginia's annual fall tournament. Coming off a tournament in which he had to withdraw because of a sore throat, Wai lost to NC State's Nick Cavaday in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.

Wai, currently ranked No. 50 in the nation, was never quite able to get it going in his match against Cavaday, the country's No. 39-ranked player. Wai will travel to Princeton, NJ next week to compete in the Princeton/Farnsworth invitational.
