Elis Wrap Up Play at Army Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Yale beat Cornell 5-2 to highlight its final day of competition at the Army Invitational. The Bulldogs also took on Penn State in a mock dual match, winning two of four in doubles but losing five of seven in singles.

Against the Big Red Yale swept the top four singles positions, with Milosz Gudzowski winning 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1, Jeff Dawson winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, Mike Caldwell winning 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 and Rory Green winning 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. The team of Gudzowski and Green won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, while Caldwell and Chris Lawler won 8-4 at No. 3.

Against the Nittany Lions, Yale's singles wins came from Gudzowski at No. 1 (6-3, 4-6, (10-8) 1-0) and Dawson at No. 2 (6-4, 4-6, (10-6) 1-0). Green and Lawler won 9-8 (15-13) at No. 1 doubles, and Dawson and Caldwell won 9-8 (7-4) at No. 2.
