Reynolds Wins First Round Match at ITA Northeast Championships

In the first round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Northeast Championships, Rowan Reynolds defeated Manhattan's Erez Cohen in three sets to advance to the second round.
Reynolds took the first set from opponent Cohen, 7-6, before Cohen tied the match at 1-1 after beating Reynolds 5-7 in the second set. But Reynolds pulled out the 6-4 third set to defeat Cohen. He will next face Matt Hane from George Washington University in the second round after Hane received a first-round-bye.
Two Bulldogs moved on because of byes, with No. 11 seed Ryan Murphy slated to face Nikhil Murali from St. Bonaventrue tomorrow. Brandon Wai, one of the players seeded 17-32, also will begin play in the second round tomorrow.
Yale's Milosz Gudzowski fell in straight sets to Columbia's Yoku Kiuchi, 6-3, 6-3.
The championships will continue tomorrow at the Reis Tennis Center of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
