Labosky Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All American
June 22, 2009Rising senior Chris Labosky was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America men's track and field/cross country third team. Labosky, a humanities major, earned a second team All-Ivy nod during the 2008-09 indoor track and field season as a member of the 4x880-yard relay team. The Tallmadge, Ohio native was also an IC4A qualifier in the 800-meter run and the 4x800-meter relay in the outdoor campaign. -
Lachman Closes Strong Career with Top-20 Finish at Nationals
June 14, 2009On Thursday, senior Jeffrey Lachman closed his Yale career with a strong performance at the NCAA Division I Championships. The meet, hosted by the University of Arkansas, is the culmination of the collegiate track & field season. Lachman was the lone Bulldog who qualified for this extremely competitive meet, in which he finished 19th overall in the discus throw. -
Lachman to Compete at NCAA Championship
June 11, 2009This entire weekend, Wednesday through Saturday June 10-13, over 1,000 of the best collegiate track & field athletes in the country will converge in Fayetteville, Ark. for the NCAA Division I Championships. The University of Arkansas is hosting this championship meet at the John McDonnell Field. All athletes competing at this meet qualified through one of the four regional championship meets two weekends ago, including senior Jeffrey Lachman in the discus throw. -
Chris Labosky Named to CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team
June 05, 2009Junior Chris Labosky has been selected to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country First Team. Nominees for the award must be key contributors to their varsity team while also maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.30. Labosky, the lone male Ivy League student-athlete to earn the distinction, currently holds a 3.97 GPA as a Humanities major. -
Lachman Qualifies for NCAA Championships
May 30, 2009After a low-key first day of competition on Friday at the NCAA East Regional Championship, the Bulldogs saw a spectacular performance in the field events on Saturday. Senior Jeffrey Lachman placed fifth in the discus throw, which was good enough to earn an automatic bid for the NCAA National Championships. In this highly-competitive meet, Lachman was the sole Bulldog to earn points for the team. The Bulldogs ultimately finished in a tie for 36th with their four points in a field of roughly 100 teams. -
