Bulldogs Compete at IC4As
Relay Teams Run New Season Bests
BOSTON - The Bulldogs finished out the indoor season at indoor IC4A Championships with several strong performances. The meet, which was held at Boston University, features athletes from the Division I schools in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions who have qualified by making certain performance standards.
In the field events, senior Eric DePalo competed in the pole vault with a jump of 4.80m. Freshman Mike Levine also made another impressive performance in the weight throw (17.04m), coming in 12th place.
The 4x400 meter relay team came through with a huge PR of 3:14.64 in its last race of the season. The squad of senior David Soiles, junior Marty Evans and sophomores Chris Stanley finished second in their heat and 14th overall.
The distance relays fared well in preliminaries as well. The distance medley relay placed third in their heat and 16th overall, only four seconds behind the last qualifying spot. The squad of seniors Kevin Brown and Ted Galligan, junior Matt Bogdan and freshman Chris Ramsey ran a time of 10:05.40. The 4x800 relay team of senior Max Brown, junior Peter Vizcarrondo, sophomore Andrew Esposito and freshman Timothy Hillas also made a new season best, placing fifth in their heat in 7:45.98.
The IC4As mark the end for the indoor season and the Bulldogs will now begin training for the outdoor season. After a spring recess, they will next compete at the William and Mary Spring Break Invitational on Mar. 20.
