NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The NCAA Championships will open in Eugene, Ore., on June 9, and senior Chris Labosky will be competing in the semifinals of the 800-meter run. Labosky earned his berth by finishing 10th overall at the NCAA Regional Competition in Greensboro, N.C. on May 28.
Labosky set a school record with that run, finishing in 1:47.74. Labosky has competed in NCAA Regionals twice, but this is his first time competing at the national championships. His previous PR was 1:48.25, which he set at IC4A Championships to earn All-East honors. That time officially ranks Labosky as the 21st-fastest runner going into the NCAA Championships, though his new school record would place him 12th.
Labosky will be competing in the semifinals on Wednesday at 4:30 PM PDT. He will competing in the third of three heats; the top two from each heat and the next two fastest will move on to the finals.The finals will be held on Friday at 5:40 PM PDT.
