Named First Team District 1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Matthew Thwaites, who finished fifth in the 10,000 run at the outdoor IC4A Championship, has been named to the Academic All-District 1 track/cross country first team.

Thwaites, a Burlington, Vt., native, has the ninth fastest 10,000 run time in school history. He was 13th at the Heptagonal Championship and also was a regular scorer for the cross country team in the fall.

Thwaites, who graduated earlier this month, was an economics/political science major with a 3.84 grade point average.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.
