Reinhart Scores on the Final Day of the IC4A Championships
PRINCETON, N.J.—The Yale men's track and field team competed in the final day of IC4A Championships on Sunday. With most athletes either finished with the season or preparing for the NCAA East Prelims, only freshman Trevor Reinhart and junior Luke Persichetti competed. At the championships, the Bulldogs finished in 29th place with 10 points, while Morgan State won with 68 points.
Reinhart placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:51.31. He ran extremely well, passing five athletes in the final lap of the race by running it in under 60 seconds. After having just raced this event the day before in the prelims, he demonstrated his strength and preparation, running nearly the same time as yesterday, while the majority of athletes ran significantly slower in the finals. With this performance, Reinhart ends his season on a high note, earning five points for the Elis as he heads into the summer.
Persichetti competed in the shot put, placing 19th in the competitive field. He threw a mark of 14.59m to finish off his junior season.
