    Bulldogs Head to Boston for Valentine Invitational The men’s track and field team will travel to Boston University on Saturday to compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The invitational is one of the biggest events in which the Bulldogs will compete this season, attracting hundreds of collegiate and professional athletes from schools around the country.

    Koller Wins High Jump on First Day of Giegengack On the first day of competition at the Giegengack Invitational, which featured a smattering of events from around the track, the men’s track and field team put up strong finishes in the high jump and the distance medley. The Bulldogs competed against teams from across the region, including Sacred Heart, the University of New Haven, and Quinnipiac.

    Bulldogs To Host Giegengack Invitational The men’s track and field team will compete at Coxe Cage for the second weekend in a row on Friday and Saturday as the Bulldogs host the Giegengack Invitational. Many of the top finishers last weekend for the Bulldogs will hit the track again this weekend, and we will also see several distance runners whose action thus far in the season has been limited.

    Sprinters Shine Against Harvard and Princeton The men’s track and field team placed third at the annual Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet held at Coxe Cage this weekend. The meet, which pitted some of the best athletes in the Ivy League against each other, produced season-best times for many of the Bulldogs’ sprinters.

    Bulldogs Prepare for Harvard-Princeton Meet The Yale men’s track and field team will host the annual Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet on Sunday at Coxe Cage. Coming out of a strong second-place showing at Columbia-Dartmouth last weekend, expect the Bulldogs to compete for top spots in several sprint events and field events as they take on top rival Harvard and last season’s Ivy League champion Princeton.

    Bulldogs Take Second at Columbia-Dartmouth The men’s track and field team took second place at the Columbia-Dartmouth meet this weekend with 70 points in a meet that saw the return of many upperclassmen to the track for the first time this season. It was the Bulldog freshmen who stole the show, however, placing in a number of events to contribute to their 48-point drubbing of host Columbia.

    Elis Set to Host Yale Collegiate Invitational The Yale men’s track and field team will host its first scored meet of the season on Saturday at Coxe Cage, the 35th Yale Collegiate Invitational. This meet will kick off the Elis’ season in earnest; they will compete indoors each weekend from now until mid-February.

    Underclassmen Shine at Season Opener The Yale men's track and field team held its first meet of the 2016-2017 season this afternoon, the Yale Season Opener at Coxe Cage. The annual meet, which is intended to give the Bulldogs time on the track before the season's scored meets begin, pitted the Elis against teams from around the area, including the University of New Haven, Southern Connecticut State, Morgan State, and Sacred Heart, among others. The Elis sat their distance runners coming out of the cross country season, but saw strong performances from several freshmen in sprint relays and upperclassmen in field events.

    2016-2017 Season Begins Saturday The Yale men's track and field team will open the 2016-2017 season this Saturday at Coxe Cage with the annual Yale Season Opener meet. The meet will provide the team, particularly the freshmen and those who did not race during the cross country season, with a chance to assess where they stand coming into the season. New members of the team will have a chance to get their feet wet in collegiate competition without the full pressure of scored meets.

    Olympic Runner Kate Grace ’11 Speaks to Current Bulldogs Last Thursday, one of the most prominent alums from the Yale cross country and track and field programs returned to Coxe Cage to speak to the current team’s athletes. Kate Grace ‘11 described her winding journey from a collegiate athlete at Yale to the eighth-place finisher in the 800-meter run at the 2016 Olympics. In a conversation that lasted a little under an hour, Grace took numerous questions from the student-athletes and coaches and offered tips about what helped her achieve such remarkable success.

    Bulldogs Rank Fourth Nationally in Academic Achievement Six athletes from the men's track and field team, as well as the team as a whole were recognized for academic achievement during the 2015-2016 track and field season. The team ranked fourth among all men's NCAA Division I track and field teams in terms of GPA this past season, with a team average of 3.43. This average was the highest of any men's track and field team in the Ivy League and easily earned the team All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

    Alexandre Finishes Sixth Against Canada’s Best Rising senior and incoming team captain Marc-Andre Alexandre of the Yale men’s track and field team finished a stellar season on Saturday at the Canadian Track and Field Championships and Olympic Selection Trials. He raced in the finals of the 400-meter dash and placed sixth.

    Alexandre Qualifies to Canadian 400-Meter Finals Rising Senior Marc-Andre Alexandre qualified on Friday to the finals of the 400-meter dash at the Canadian Track and Field Championships and Olympic Selection Trials. He will race again less than 24 hours after the prelims in the finals, where he will compete against the eight best 400-meter runners in Canada.

    Alexandre to Race for a Spot at Rio Rising senior Marc-Andre Alexandre will compete at the Canadian Track and Field Championships and Selection Trials for the Olympic Games on July 8. He will be racing against Canada’s top 400-meter runners for a chance to compete in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the 2016 Olympic Games.

    Laut Finishes Record-Breaking Season at Junior Championships Rising sophomore Austin Laut, of the Yale men's track and field team, competed on Friday against other top pole vaulters in the United States. He placed seventh at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships, competing against other stellar pole vaulters between the ages of 16 and 19.

    Laut to Compete at Junior National Championships After a record-setting freshman season at Yale, rising sophomore Austin Laut will compete at the 2016 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on Friday. He qualified to this prestigious meet in the pole vault with his mark of 5.11m from the IC4A Outdoor Championships. On Friday, he will be competing against many of the most talented athletes under 20 years old in the country.
