NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's track and field team will host the Yale Springtime Invitational this Sunday in final preparation for the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, which begin next Saturday. Most of the Bulldogs will be opting out of competition this weekend, however, in order to get in some final fine tuning at practice.
Neil Braganza, Zach Capello, Kohl Swift and Alex Whittaker are four of the Bulldogs expected to see competition this weekend. Braganza is entered in the 3,000m steeplechase, his main event this season, and will be looking to gauge his shape leading into next week's Ivy Heps. Capello will be competing in the 1500m run, looking to improve on his last two performances in that event. Swift and Whittaker will toe the line together in the 800m run, hoping to dominate their race against a smaller field.
Aside from the athletes mentioned above, other competitors this weekend may include representatives from the throws squad of Jake Hoops and Andrew Rochon, or from the jumpers including Carl Mansson, CJ McCord, Spencer O'Neill and Jimmy Shih.
Results and a recap will be posted following the completion of the meet.
