RALEIGH, N.C. – The Yale men's track and field team concluded competition Saturday at the Raleigh Relays, capping a successful opening weekend for the Elis. Following the impressive performances from Friday's events, two Bulldogs went into today's action looking to add to this weekend's highlights – both athletes set new personal records in their races.
Patrick Perry took to the track for the 10,000m run early in morning, before the temperatures kicked up, and placed 14th in his heat with a new personal best time of 31:41.31. The Bulldogs' long distance crew showed up this weekend, with all 10,000m competitors setting new personal bests, including an impressive 30:19.45 from first year Cade Brown in Friday's race.
After a long break following Perry's performance, Ekrem Ayhan completed his 100m/200m double with an 11th-place finish in the 200m off a new personal best effort of 21.65. That time would have placed fifth at last year's Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Along with Ayhan's performance in the 100m dash from Friday, this weekend produced two new personal bests for the Bulldog sprinter.
