Elis Defeat Dartmouth, Columbia

Led by the top sprinting performance of Brandon Giles and Victor Cheng, the Yale men's track team defeated Dartmouth and Columbia, scoring 81 points while the Green earned 67 and the Lions finished with 33.

Cheng and Giles eached earned a first and second place finish in the short distance events, with Cheng finishing first and Giles second in the 60m dash with times of 6.96 and 6.97, and the finish reversing itself in the 200m dash. In that event, Giles ended up with a time of 22.47 while Cheng ran to a 22.61 finish.

Rob deLaski finished with a 1:05.74 finish in the 500 meter run, while Reed Mauser ran to a 2:30.72 time in the 1000 meter.

Daniel O'Brien and James Carter got 1-2 finishes in the 60 meter hurdles, coming in at 8.27 and 8.72 respectively. In the distance relay, the 4x800 team earned first with a 7:48.78 finish.

In field events, Jihad Beauchman finished first in the high jump (2.06m) and the triple jump (13.84m), while Matthew Lachman came in tops in the pole vault with a jump of 4.65m.
